jan marini skincare management system review

jan marini skincare management system reviewI’ll be honest. It’s rare for me, as a blogger, to settle down on a very specific skincare routine. Products are sent to my door quite often (skincare specifically) so there are always different options I have on hand. Sometimes that gets my skin in trouble, but it really is great to explore what’s out there. But when I was given a chance to try Jan Marini’s Skincare Management System I set most other products aside to really give it a shot.

I’ve seen this set in NewBeauty magazine for years and it always stuck with me because it was an award winner. I’ve been lucky enough in the past to try their Hyla 3D Serum, C-Esta Serum, and a Facial Scrub. Jan Marini really makes some fantastic stuff! A bit on the pricier range for me, but once you try them you understand why.

The Skincare Management System comes in two versions, the one I chose was for Combination/Oily skin and includes the Bioglycolic Wash, C- Esta Serum, Bioclear Lotion, Transformation Face Cream, and their Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 33.  Full disclosure, I decided I would still use some other skincare products that I really like, such as my Missha Time Revolution Serum and Prescriptives Super Line Preventor Xtreme. Occasionally I would still use my Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Scrub because it also works for my skin.

I will say right off the bat that this set, when used regularly can definitely make a difference in the texture of my skin. I also think it helped keep my hormonal outbreaks way more under control too. Pimples that DID still crop up went away faster, and those under the skin monsters reduced in size. My skin feels smoother in general and I find myself checking it out a bit more in the mirror!

Let’s take a little closer look at the products and I’ll tell you what I think about all of them.

jan marini skincare management system reviewThe Bioglycolic Wash – I’m always weary of glycolic washes. Sometimes they’re too harsh and your skin gets pink and hurts. I never experienced any sensitivity with this wash due to it’s cream base. The glycolic acid in this helps exfoliate the skin to reduce breakouts and fix hyperpigmentation. It’s not good for removing makeup (because you don’t want to rub your eyes with it), but I’d buy this wash again!

jan marini skincare management system reviewC-Esta Serum – I love this stuff. I swear it helps firm the skin and if I could afford it, I’d buy a lifetime supply and bathe in it. It has a powerful mix of antioxidants, Vitamin C and DMAE that truly transform the skin. I’ve tried vitamin C serums before but this one takes the cake. Lightweight, not sticky, absorbs quickly.

jan marini skincare management system reviewBioclear Lotion – I think this was the magic potion that really took things to the next level. Just a few drops spread on the face morning and night and magic happens. Even though it’s called a lotion, it’s more of a thicker serum. It has a blend of glycolic, salicylic and azaelic acids to refine skin texture, work on pore size, fine lines, acne and redness. I will be using this religiously and hope to continue using it later on when the bottle is done.

jan marini skincare management system reviewTransformation Face Cream – While this face cream felt great on the skin, I think I could do with one of my other options. It hydrates well, and has a anti-aging peptide cocktail along with hyaluronic acid to help skin look it’s very best. Again, it was great, but as a stand alone face cream I would probably opt for something I can afford on the regular.

jan marini skincare management system reviewAntioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 33 – Sunscreen is an absolute MUST when using glycolics or retinoids because your skin is more at risk from sun damage. This sunscreen was ok. It worked with with or without makeup, but it took a bit longer to absorb on my skin. I like sunscreens to feel like almost nothing on the skin and it took a while to get there. It has all the bells and whistles like antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and oil-control if you want those things, just be aware that this is a chemical sunscreen and not physical.

I’m truly impressed with the overall system, but I think steps 1,2 and 3 were the stand out products for me.  I can see myself buying the face wash and Bioclear lotion down the road, but would probably hold back on the rest due to budget. Not interested in an entire system? Jan Marini actually makes a wide range of effective products that are sold separately from the system so you can pick and choose what fits your skincare needs.

  1. JM is such a great brand, and they don’t get nearly enough love for their amazing products! The Bioglycolic Wash is incredible, but I agree that it really isn’t a go-to for removing makeup.

  2. Love this follow up. It’s always great to know how the products are working in the long term. I’m really interested in the C-Esta Serum. I need all the skin firming i can get – lol

  3. I love Jan Marini skincare. I have used the Bioglycolic Wash and the C-Esta, and I used them up and loved them both. I also love the Jan Marini daytime moisturizers that are quite affordable. Great brand though some of the serums and anti-aging products can be pricey.
