My sinuses tell me it’s Spring (anyone else have allergies?) but the weather is telling me it’s Summa Summa time! Things are heating up pretty quickie here in Arizona and I’ve begun to pull out shorts, dresses, and sandals from last year figuring out what still fits and what’s going to keep me cool this week. I bought more sunscreens for the daily pool sessions with my daughter but also began stocking up on body exfoliators that I tend to use more during the hotter months.

If I’m going to bare my legs often, I want my legs to be super smooth — along with my elbows and feet!

Today I’m going to share the latest body exfoliators I’ve been using and my thoughts. And then hopefully you can share one that I might be missing out on!

Daily Concepts Daily Body Scrubber

Purchase at Amazon.com  or Ulta Beauty

One of my favorite discoveries from the Daily Concepts brand! I never thought I’d love a body sponge as much as I do this one, but let me count the ways. For one, the sponge’s cloth covering is the perfect scratch to my itch. The texture of this scrub sponge feels SO good on my skin — even my husband enjoyed it more than his regular shower poof. It comes housed in a plastic bag container of sorts that allows you to hang it with a suction cup in your shower for easy drying and is also biodegradable! I order the 3-pack of these sponges on Amazon and replace them when the label on the sponge fades (it’s designed to do that).  These are way too textured for my daughter whose five to enjoy, but for adults or someone who really enjoys exfoliation, these are perfect!

Tree Hut Sugar Scrub

Purchase at Target or Ulta Beauty

Tree Huts Sugar Scrubs are a super affordable option I always lean on during the Summer. I love the variety of scents that have for their scrubs and prefer a sugar scrub over salt in case I have any cuts or snagged cuticles. Sugar alone has exfoliating properties but I massage this into my skin in a circular pattern and feel it rinse away clean in the shower. At around $6 a tub (and sometimes less when sales are going on) I feel like I’m entitled to use big, generous hand scoops to really scrub down. I never really have a rhyme or reason as to the scent I choose either since they all end up smelling pretty good, and always leaves my skin looking fantastically polished and moisturized.

First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub

Purchase at Ulta Beauty or Sephora

I was hesitant to use this since I don’t have Keratosis Pilaris and wasn’t sure if it would work on simply smoothing and exfoliating skin without the issue. Would it be too strong? This particular product is a thick paste with pumice bits in it, along with 10% AHAs (glycolic and lactic) to help loosen dead skin, decongest pores with its physical and chemical exfoliating action. The grit of this is AWESOME, I should add. The feel of this alone will make anybody scrub enthusiast sing! I made sure to stick to the directions (use 1-2/week) on wet skin and never more –mostly in fear I would give myself sunburns while sitting at the pool. I use sunscreen, but I was still nervous. This product was actually quite enjoyable to use in the shower. I liked to use this on my elbows and feet since those areas tend to build up dry skin quicker, and for my legs, to prevent ingrown hair. The tube size feels generous although the price is still higher than drugstore options. Want to avoid the grit of pumice? They just came out with a new KP Bump body lotion too!

Pixi Beauty Glycolic Body Peel

Purchase at Target or Pixi Beauty

If you’re digging the chemical exfoliation option for the body, Pixi Beauty has their own version with their Glycolic Body Peel which may sound intimidating but it’s actually pretty tame for the product name. I like to think of this as a very fine polish for the skin. The grit is pretty low, but you do feel it in there. I’ve used this product several days a week on my legs to prevent ingrown hairs and have experienced no irritation from using it or sun exposure. I like that it has added aloe vera to hydrate since I also take showers hotter than I should! What’s great is that they have a few other versions of their glycolic-based body products like their Glycolic body lotion and body wash if you prefer one method over the other!

  1. You’ve got it all covered. Right now I just have a Tree Hut and another scrub but I guess I need to up my game especially for my uncovered arms.

  2. You mentioned two of my favorite products for my dry skin and ketosis Polaris. I’m quite impressed with the new pixie glycolic line and the first aid beauty is a staple for me.
