I’m not sure what it was about Herbal Dynamics Beauty that got me so interested in them, but I’ve been following the brand for well over a year on social, and finally gave them a try. If you haven’t come across this bright and minimal-styled brand, then allow me to get you familiar with them.

Herbal Dynamics Beauty specializes in affordable botanical skincare for all skin types, using a conscious approach to what ingredients they include (or exclude) in their formulas. They omit any use of phthalates and sulfates and can proudly say they are cruelty-free. They are strictly available online at their website, as well as Macy’s.

The packaging is simple and straightforward which is appealing to me, and usually includes a good description of the product and ingredients (if space allows). Everything is easy to open and store, and I like that their website is easy to navigate and assist in choosing the right products for my skin types and needs.

Moisture is one of those things I’m constantly looking to improve for my skin. It doesn’t matter the season– I consistently include something in my skincare routine that will increase hydration and moisture for healthy-looking skin. When I step out of the shower I get started on this immediately before I “dry out” and do the opposite.

An Antioxidant Toner

I’m always using facial mists or toners before skincare and makeup so I thought I’d give their Collagenr8 Restorative CoQ10 Facial Toner a try. I liked the sound of it including hyaluronic acid and coenzyme Q10 to plump and hydrate while fighting free radical damage. I have a CoQ10 serum from another brand, and antioxidants are something I LOVE including in my routine. I make sure to get mine in all forms – skincare, supplement, and whole foods!

Ubiquinone (CoQ10) lends its antioxidant power to this yellow-hued toner, promoting collagen production for bouncier skin, and also revs up skin cell metabolism for faster turnover. Coenzyme Q10 is one of those things that our body naturally produces, but over time diminishes, so it’s a good thing to include in an anti-aging routine.

The toner also includes hyaluronic acid, a well-known skin plumper, while gentle botanicals like papaya, cucumber, chamomile, and sage extract soothe inflammation and brighten the complexion.

I like that this one never stings and has a light, pretty scent to it. I don’t see a specific ingredient pointing toward fragrance, so I’m led to believe it’s the botanical blend that smells nice. I use my cotton rounds with this toner and like how clean and hydrated my skin feels after use. Especially great for getting those trace remnants of makeup off after you’ve already double cleansed and still have foundation hiding somewhere. I usually find some hidden around my jawbone. A Smoothing Lip Mask

My lips go through random bouts of dryness where I can’t seem to shake the flaky lips. Not only are they annoying, but because I feel those flakes, I have a bad habit of messing with them and sometimes making it worse so it’s important to me to find a fix when my lips get chapped.

The gorgeous berry color of Herbal Dynamics Beauty Volumizing & Smoothing Rapid Lip Mask is what caught my eye. This lip mask very much feels like the one from Laneige, but with a different flavor and a slightly more “wet” feel to it. To be honest, I hadn’t looked at the directions because I figured it would be straightforward, but this is a lip mask that you’re supposed to apply and then wipe off a few minutes later — but I’ve been using it as a leave-on mask just fine!

I don’t feel or see any plumping action which is fine because anything that plumps the lips using feels like stinging and burning to me, so just feeling a smoothing action is a relief to me. My lips feel slightly velvety after putting this Fuschia-toned cream and can smell the product in the tube, but don’t taste anything on the lips. It does offer the slightest amount of color to the lips when worn, but I truly mean the slightest amount. It’s like a stain of a stain. Very light.

There’s no shine to this product, it just absorbs quickly into the lips providing a transforming lip treatment that includes xylitol, a moisture magnet and barrier strengthener, apple extract, peptides to smooth, and vitamins A, C and E to fight signs of environmental damage. I’d like to see this in a squeezy tube for the sole reason that if you’re out and about you don’t really want to stick your finger in a jar to apply product to your face. I feel more comfortable at home doing this, but when you’re out you’ve probably touched a few other things. I’d venture to say these would do great in other vivid colors too if they ever made a lip trio pack or something. This lip mask feels very nice on the lips and I keep it by my laptop so I can apply throughout the day.

An Overnight Mask

There seems to be this new trend of calling overnight moisturizers masks now. I’m not sure why…maybe just a new way to market the same thing — but I can tell you it’s a category of product my skin needs! We lose so much moisture over the course of the night while we sleep, so I try to counteract that by using a good humidifier in our bedroom and using good moisturizing occlusives to trap all that goodness into the skin.

When I looked over the Youth Refresh Hyaluronic Acid & Oat Overnight Recovery Mask it hit all the points I look for in a PM moisturizer or mask. Its nourishing formula brightens, smooths, hydrates, and softens all in one step just a couple of times a week. You know I love my HA’s, but oats can be particularly soothing if you’ve gone overboard with exfoliants, and tremella mushroom is something new to me! I’ve been learning more about mushrooms and their benefits so I am happy to hear that such a fantastic ingredient is included in this mask. tremella mushroom (also known as snow mushroom)  is said to promote healthy, clear skin while reducing inflammation and boosting moisture levels.

As someone who is a big stress ball, I appreciate anything that reduces inflammation in any way possible. Negative stress and inflammation do the body no good so if I can counteract any of the bad, I’m all for it! And turns out that Snow Mushroom penetrates the skin better than HA’s so it can get to the deeper layers with more ease and trap that much-needed moisture right where we want it.

My skin feels soft to the touch after using this at night time and I like how it absorbs nicely into the skin. This particular mask has an almost balm-like feel to it compared to some other similar products I own. My Kiehl’s Overnight reHydrating mask has a more occlusive “mask-like” feel to it, almost like you feel a waxiness or oil to it whereas this one it’s more a dry balm feel. This might be a better choice in the upcoming Summer months when things with a greasier feel to them take a back seat until adjusting to the weather again. (also available at macys.com)

Overall Thoughts

I really enjoy the lip mask the most out of the products I tried since there was an immediate smoothing action I could feel from the first swipe of the product on my lips. The color also draws me in, I can’t help it, it’s just such a pretty shade of violet! I think I’m going to need to get that matching lip scrub to use with it.

I liked all three products, actually, and will continue to use all of them until they run out. There are still a couple more products that I’d love to try from Herbal Dynamics Beauty, like their Revitage Replenishing Squalane and Argan Oil Serum, Concentrated Face Balm, and Strawberry Antioxidant Cleanser. They all sound great for my skin type and I’ve had a good first experience with the three that I’ve tried so far.
