It’s been a while since I brought up Iris & Romeo on the blog, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not still using their products and loving their newest product releases! Best Skin Days is their tinted complexion product that I praised for it being a hybrid makeup and skincare product. Not only did it even out skin tone to my liking, but it also had a multitude of skincare ingredients and sun protection to round it out into a fabulous multi-tasking product. Fast forward two years and here we are with their Ceramide Multi Balms, nourishing, antioxidant-packed shade sticks for the lips, cheeks and face.

Iris & Romeo’s Ceramide Multi Balms come in three universally flattering sheer shades you can mix match or layer to your liking. They made the formula ultra nourishing by including serum-strength ceramides that reinforce our skin barrier, the part of our skin that keeps moisture in and the bad stuff out!

CERAMIDES

As we age the ceramides (a type of lipid)  in our skin decrease, making it look drier as time goes on. You may have also come across a compromised skin barrier as well if you overdid it with your skincare routine making it sensitive as well. That’s where products like ceramide multi-balms come into almost patch up and strengthen the skin barrier, helping prevent water loss or dulling of our complexions.

Who wants a dull complexion? How ’bout, nobody? So let’s bring on all the ceramides for healthy, glowing skin!

ABOUT THE CERAMIDE BALMS

The multi-balms look like oversized chapsticks, or chubby sticks if you will. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly smooth these balms felt to the touch. There is absolutely no drag in pulling this over the skin, which I think can be due in part to the rich, moisturizing mango butter that’s in its formula.

The colors are said to be universally flattering and I think their sheerness helps with that. The darkest shade, tawny brown looked a bit too dark at first, but the sheerness and blend-ability of this product make it work well for me and my light to medium neutral skin tone.

MY EXPERIENCE

The shades are sheer but can easily be built up with an extra swipe or two — and they are incredibly silky on the skin. I’d say they have more pigment than the Ilia Beauty Cheek shades I’ve tried which are beautiful — but sheer out too quickly on me. I also really like how smoothly these applied without becoming a total mess. Some cream blushes or stick blushes are too soft and just melt all over the containers but not these. These also have the perfect amount fo dewiness to them so they don’t look dry on the skin.

THE COLORS

My favorite shade is Rosy Glow, which is a cool pink. Mood Boost, which is a peachy pink is really pretty too. Doesn’t show up on my lips as much as Rosy Glow but definitely a shade I enjoy. And Warm Flush which is tawny brown, has a uniqueness to it that I enjoy as well. Almost a contour shade, but still a blush but a bronzer? Hard to explain that colo but it works!

Rosy Glow

I like these! I’d be happy if they came out with more colors but I do think the three they did make are great ones to start with.
